ORBRO OS adds a new Mobile GPS feature for outdoor location tracking
Stronger map-based outdoor tracking, with a Weather app and UI improvements that also lift the user experience

On July 9, 2025, ORBRO OS, a smart space operating system, introduced a new Mobile GPS feature through its version 2.1.0 update, allowing location-based data to be collected in outdoor environments as well. The feature moves beyond location tracking centered on building interiors and is designed so that position can be identified from a map alone, without building information. Users can now collect and track location data in outdoor spaces through the ORBRO OS mobile app.
ORBRO said, "Until now precise location tracking was only possible in spaces where a building floor plan existed, but now location-based functions can be extended using a basic map even without a floor plan," adding, "The introduction of a GPS-based feature optimized for mobile environments has broadened the range of use significantly."
The Mobile GPS feature works with the basic map function built into ORBRO OS. Position can be checked immediately on a map without entering complex building data, which opens up a range of applications such as managing logistics movement in outdoor environments, managing large facilities and running outdoor events. Because outdoor location information can be collected easily with the mobile app alone and no separate device, flexibility and efficiency in the working environment are expected to improve considerably.
The 2.1.0 update includes a range of user experience improvements beyond Mobile GPS. A Weather application has been newly added to the Application category in the home menu, making real-time weather information available, and multilingual menu support has been expanded to match the user's language environment. The UI has also been made more intuitive overall. A shadow effect has been added to application windows so items are more clearly separated, and the Door Access category has been consolidated.
Bugs were fixed as well. Issues that had caused inconvenience for users, such as errors in weather data collection in the Weather application and confusion of positions between applications, were resolved in this update.
ORBRO OS has drawn attention as a location-based management solution among companies that provide space-based services and among facility operations managers. With integrated location tracking that spans indoors and outdoors now possible through this update, its usefulness at industrial sites and outdoor working environments is expected to grow further.
ORBRO said, "We plan to continue with updates that advance user-centered functions and strengthen operational efficiency."
